Grant Halliburton Foundation · Dallas, TX
Mental health education and support for North Texas young people
Chris Bolding is the contact for Grant Halliburton Foundation, a Dallas nonprofit that strengthens mental health resources for children, teens and young adults and works to prevent suicide. The Foundation offers education programs, a mental health navigation line, support groups and events across North Texas.
Chris Bolding connects North Texas families, schools and businesses with Grant Halliburton Foundation, a Dallas nonprofit established in 2006 in memory of Grant Halliburton, a Dallas teen who died by suicide at nineteen after years of depression and bipolar disorder. The Foundation's mission is to strengthen mental health resources for children, teens and young adults, promote better mental health and prevent suicide.
Its education programs bring presentations on mental wellness, suicide prevention, bullying and resilience to students, educators, parents and professionals, including the Building Blocks of Mental Health series and Thrive, a curriculum that builds mental, social and emotional health into a school's academic culture. The When Life Hands You Teenagers conference serves parents, counselors and professionals who work with teens.
Here For Texas, with HereForTexas.com and the Mental Health Navigation Line at 972-525-8181, helps Texans find mental health and substance use support, staffed by volunteer navigators. Free monthly support groups, Coffee Days and the Spanish-language Charlas con un Cafecito, serve mothers and female caregivers of young people with mental health challenges. The Foundation is funded by donations, events such as the Beacon of Hope Luncheon and The Hope Party, and partners.
A school leader or counselor who wants mental health and suicide prevention programming for students and staff, a parent or caregiver worried about a young person and unsure where to turn, or a business leader looking for a North Texas nonprofit to sponsor, volunteer with or bring in for an employee program.
Someone in immediate crisis; the Foundation's navigation line connects people to resources but is not an emergency service. Call or text 988 for immediate help.
